Work Schedule:
Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning January 1, 2016. Teaching will entail 4 courses (.67 FTE) during the terms of January and Spring. This position has full benefits.

The successful applicant may choose to be considered for an additional 1-3 year Visiting Assistant Professor position, subject to budgetary approval.

Hiring Range:
Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience + benefits package    

General Description:
The Philosophy Department at Pacific Lutheran University is seeking a colleague committed to undergraduate education, a stimulating teacher and interesting scholar who relates well to students. AOS: Environmental Philosophy. AOC in one or more areas: gender and/or feminist studies, social and political philosophy, Pragmatism. Successful candidates will also have a strong grounding in the history of philosophy.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
-Teach 4 courses during the terms of January and Spring.
-Involvement in the life of the university community is desired and encouraged.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
We are looking for a colleague committed to undergraduate education, a stimulating teacher and interesting scholar who relates well to students.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. ABD will be considered, but Ph.D. must be in hand by January 1, 2016.
