Cleveland State University is searching for active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber.

The Department of Philosophy and Comparative Religion at Cleveland State University invites applications for an Assistant College Lecturer position. AOS: Ancient and Medieval Philosophy; AOC: History of Philosophy.

Duties: Will consist of teaching 12 credit hours/4 courses per semester including Ancient and Medieval Philosophy as well as other introductory level and upper-division courses in area of expertise. Participation in service responsibilities at the department, college, and university level as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Philosophy in hand by July 1, 2016; Evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness; AOS and AOC as specified above.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in teaching Ancient and Medieval Philosophy courses; ability to teach Modern Philosophy and/or experience teaching Modern Philosophy; evidence of teaching achievement and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.

Position begins August 22, 2016. Salary commensurate with qualifications.
