Job description

Mercy College seeks a tenure-track assistant professor of Philosophy starting September 2016.  Preference will be given to candidates with a record of excellent teaching in introductory courses, logic, and ethics.  Area of specialization is open, with opportunity to develop upper level courses.  Excellence in undergraduate teaching is at the heart of our mission, as is a commitment to student-mentoring relationships and helping students develop analytical skills for a lifetime of success.  The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of effective teaching, commitment to continued scholarly research, and dedication to service to the Department of Humanities, School of Liberal Arts, and Mercy College.  The Department of Humanities is committed to fostering a culturally diverse and inclusive intellectual community.  Ph.D. required by appointment date.
