Job description |
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor (R97543) in the Department of Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Sudies beginning August 2016. A PhD in Philosophy or ABD completed by August, 2016 is required. The area of specialty is Applied Ethics (Business Ethics or Ethics of Technology of special interest). The area of competency is open. We currently have teaching needs in Philosophy of Race, Philosophy of Law, Feminist Philosophy, and in our history of philosophy sequence. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to contribute to ethics outreach across campus and in the professional communities in the region. Applicants for thiw position should be dedicated teachers who work well with students from diverse educational backgrounds, and who are eager to interact with students as advisors and mentors. Successful candidates must be willing to teach online courses as needed. We have an intellectually curious, energetic, hard-working, and flexible faculty, and encourage applications from those who would thrive in this environment. We also offer opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with programs and institutes dealing with race and ethnicity, professional ethics, religious studies, gender studies, and other areas.
