Job description

Amherst College's Department of Law, Jurisprudence and Social Thought invites applications for a one-year visiting appointment for the 2016-17 academic year.  The successful candidate will demonstrate competence and sensitivity in working in a department in which students are broadly diverse with regard to gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion.  Teaching responsibilities include two courses per semester and supervision of senior honors projects. We welcome applications from persons trained in the social sciences, the humanities, and/or law. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching is in one or more of the following areas:  legal history; global legality; post colonialism; law, culture, and the arts.  The position requires a Ph.D or a J.D.
