OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY, Columbus, OH. The Ohio State Center for Ethics and Human Values invites applications for a post-doctoral position in the ethics of sustainable development. We aim to support a highly promising scholar trained in environmental ethics, moral and political philosophy, or related areas to develop a research agenda in the ethical dimensions of public policies concerning sustainable development. This is a 2-year appointment. The post-doctoral researcher will undertake a research project exploring normative issues concerning policies for sustainable development and will be affiliated with the Department of Philosophy and the Center for Ethics and Human Values. In consultation with other members of the Center for Ethics and Human Values, the post-doctoral researcher will be expected to organize annually an interdisciplinary workshop on ethical issues concerning sustainable development and to lead other discussions on campus (brown-bag talks and so forth) in an ongoing way. The post-doctoral researcher will also teach one course each semester in his or her field of expertise, to enhance the course offerings for Ohio State undergraduates interested in these topics. And the post-doctoral researcher will be expected to participate in other faculty-led events and groups on related topics at Ohio State, thereby growing and enriching the sustainability-focused community on campus. |
