Postdoctoral Research Fellow (EXPIRED)

The Political Economy Project at Dartmouth College seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow who studies political theory or political philosophy for the 2016-1017 academic year. 

The Political Economy Project is an interdisciplinary initiative that addresses normative questions at the intersection of economics, politics, and ethics.  We welcome applications from scholars of the history of political thought and contemporary political theory or philosophy, preferably with some interest in economics.  The postdoctoral fellow will be affiliated with the Department of Government.  The fellowship is renewable for a second year.

The majority of the fellow’s time will be devoted to independent research.  The fellow will also teach two courses per year, in separate terms, on topics related to the Political Economy Project.  (Dartmouth College’s academic year is composed of four 10-week terms.)  The fellow will also be expected to attend and assist with the planning of Political Economy Project events, and otherwise participate in the intellectual life of the Political Economy Project, the Government Department, and the College.  The fellow will also join a broader community of postdoctoral research fellows that includes the Dartmouth Society of Fellows, the John Sloan Dickey Center Fellows, the Neukom Institute Fellows, the Rockefeller Center Fellows, and Quantitative Social Science Fellows.  The salary is competitive and includes benefits.
