Job description

The Department of Philosophy at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a one-year, Visiting Assistant Professor position.  The position will begin August 2016 and is potentially renewable for additional years.  The position will entail teaching three undergraduate courses per semester, including at least one at the introductory level.  AOS and AOC: Open.  We seek an individual who can teach Ancient Greek Philosophy and Africana Philosophy or Critical Race Theory.  Candidates must offer evidence of excellence in teaching and be prepared to teach courses in introductory philosophy.

Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. and offer evidence of excellence in teaching as well as productive scholarly commitments.  For more about the unique Philosophy program at St. Lawrence see http://www.stlawu.edu/philosophy/mission-statement.
