Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at UBC invites applications for a limited-term position at the rank of Assistant Professor Without Review to commence July 1, 2016. The initial appointment will be for 1 year, with potential for reappointment for up to 2 more years. Consideration for reappointment will be subject to excellent performance appraisals. Area of Specialization: Ethics and Political Philosophy. The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. (or expect to have successfully defended prior to July 1, 2016) and have research expertise, demonstrated accomplishments in scholarship (evidenced by high-quality publication and/or significant conference participation), and teaching experience at the undergraduate level. S/he will be expected to maintain an active program of research and teaching, and to undertake service duties as assigned by the Head. The teaching load will be four 3-credit courses per year. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae, a sample of their publications, a statement of teaching philosophy, and evidence of teaching ability and effectiveness.
