Job description

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Ball State University invites applications for a fulltime, contract position at the instructor or Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) level.  All courses are online.  Position start date is August, 2016.  The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies seeks to attract an active, culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber.  Therefore, we especially encourage applications from candidates that would contribute to this commitment.

Major responsibilities: Teach twelve (12) hours of philosophy courses per semester.  Provide service to the department as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:  Master’s degree or higher in Philosophy prior to start date, from an accredited college or university; evidence of ability to teach ethics; evidence of teaching effectiveness in online modalities.

Preferred qualifications:  Earned doctorate in Philosophy from an accredited college or university; demonstrated potential to excel in mentoring minority students, inclusive pedagogy, or diversity policy issues.
