Job no: 508519 Note: Deadline is CoB 16 May, 2016, Australian Eastern Daylight Time. Classification: Postdoctoral Fellow Level ASalary package: $66,318 - $84,122 per annum plus 17% superannuation Fixed term contract - 2.5 years
We are seeking a highly capable Research Associate to work on the ARC grant "Origins of Inequality, Hierarchy, and Social Complexity". Candidates with a background and interest in philosophy of the life sciences, the social sciences (including but not restricted to the use of formal models), and relevant aspects of the cognitive sciences, particularly are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will contribute to the development of research in Philosophy and will facilitate links and partnerships across the University, and nationally and internationally, building on the School's reputation. The appointee will provide links to other areas with cognate interests across the ANU, where appropriate. The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) is the largest single College of seven Colleges at ANU. The College, which is structured into two main research schools, offers degrees in more than 20 discipline areas and excels in research across the creative arts, humanities and social sciences. The College has a substantial international research presence and is a major source of national policy advice. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their research, and 46 are members of the Australian Academy of the Humanities, the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia, or both We also host 13 Australian Research Council Future Fellows and two ARC Laureates.
