Job description

Grove City College announces a faculty opening in the Department of Philosophy beginning in August 2012. A Ph.D. in Philosophy is preferred, although strong ABD candidates will be considered. Responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses in the Philosophy department, as well as teaching a few sections a year in the core curriculum. Areas of specialization are open. Interest in teaching in the areas of Continental Philosophy and 19th Century philosophy is helpful. Candidates must evidence a strong record of classroom teaching, scholarship within their field, and a commitment to instructing highly motivated students (1244/1600 average SAT for entering freshmen). Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.
