The Department of Philosophy at Penn State University [http://philosophy.la.psu.edu] invites applications for a one-year fixed term lecturer appointment (renewal possible), beginning Fall 2016. This is a non-tenure-track position. Area of Specialization: Open. Area of Competence: Ethics. The ideal candidate will complement the department’s current emphasis on continental philosophy and social philosophy, including feminism and the critical philosophy of race. Preference will be given to candidates whose work is informed by an engagement with the history of philosophy and who have a demonstrated ability to promote dialogue across philosophical traditions. A Master’s degree in Philosophy is required. Teaching load: 3 courses per semester.
