Based in southwestern Manitoba, Brandon University also offers pre-professional and Masters programs, as well as innovative and award-winning outreach programs in a personalized learning environment.
The Department of Philosophy at Brandon University invites applications for TWO, one-year full-time limited term appointments for the August 2016 - July 2017 academic year to teach courses in the following areas: Ancient Philosophy, Critical Thinking, Political Philosophy, Philosophy of History, Logic, Epistemology, Ethics, and Contemporary Continential. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the candidates will be expected to carry out an active research program and to engage in collegial governance within the department. Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in Philosophy (though applicants holding the minimum qualification of an M.A. in Philosophy will also be considered); post-secondary experience in teaching courses in the areas mentioned above or similar courses; a record that provides evidence of teaching effectiveness; and a record of research success appropriate for the candidate’s career stage.
