William Paterson University is a public institution of higher learning. The University offers more than 250 undergraduate and graduate academic programs which range from liberal arts and sciences to pre-professional and professional programs; it enrolls more than 11,000 students from across the country and from over 40 nations. The University is situated on a beautiful, 370-acre suburban campus in Wayne, New Jersey, just twenty miles west of New York City.

The Department of Philosophy in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at William Paterson University invites applications for an adjunct instructor position, for the Fall semester to begin 01.September.2016. The courses to be taught are introductory courses in philosophy, which are required of the general student population. They are capped at 35 students per section. No adjunct instructor may teach more than two sections in any given semester. The term of the contract is fixed to the Fall semester, but successful adjunct instructors hired by the Department are routinely reappointed in subsequent semesters. Salary: $3900. per section.

M.A. in philosophy (or its equivalent) is required.

Candidates will have experience in teaching and research in philosophy.
