Director, National High School Ethics Bowl (EXPIRED)

The Parr Center for Ethics at UNC-Chapel Hill is pleased to open a search for a new position, that of Director of the National High School Ethics Bowl (NHSEB). The Parr Center is home and headquarters of the NHSEB, a growing program now in its fifth year. (More information about the NHSEB can be found here: http://nhseb.unc.edu/.) The Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the NHSEB’s regional and national competitions, will oversee the substantial expansion of the NHSEB, and will be primarily in charge of executing its mission: to promote respectful, supportive, and in-depth discussion of ethics among high school students nationwide. The Director will have deep knowledge of pre-college instruction in philosophy and work to develop pedagogical materials in ethics for participants. The Director will play an important role in fundraising for the NHSEB; will be primarily responsible for marketing the NHSEB to a national constituency of high school teachers, principals and students; will be in charge of strategic planning for this enterprise; and will oversee (and participate in) community outreach with local and national partners and constituents.
