Job description |
Lehman College is a Senior College in The City University of New York (CUNY) system committed to an undergraduate liberal arts education and to active research and publication. AOS: History of Philosophy, with preference for Early Modern or Ancient. AOC in at least one of the following: Philosophy of Mind, Metaphysics, Epistemology, or Philosophy of Science. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in teaching some of the department’s introductory, as well as possibly interdisciplinary, philosophy courses. The teaching load is 21 hours (7 courses) per year. This teaching load is reduced by eight courses over the first five years in order to assist with research. Junior faculty are also eligible to apply for competitive internal Lehman College and CUNY grants to support their research. QUALIFICATIONS Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
