Assistant Professor (EXPIRED)

CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY, Omaha, NE. Department of Philosophy. Two tenure-track positions, both at rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 2017. Teaching: 6 undergraduate courses per year (3 per semester), with a one-course reduction either Fall or Spring of the first year. Usual non-teaching duties. AOS: Open.  (Dept. has needs in Philosophy of Mind, Epistemology, and interdisciplinary scholarship.)  AOC: Open. (Candidate must be willing to teach two-thirds of his or her classes in introductory philosophical ethics in the common undergraduate core curriculum of the College of Arts and Sciences and other undergraduate schools we serve. We do not have a need in Business Ethics.) In addition to upper-level philosophy courses that serve majors, the department offers upper-level philosophy courses that are interdisciplinary courses serving both majors and non-majors. Outlines for proposed interdisciplinary courses can be submitted along with other evidence of teaching excellence. A strong general background in the history of Western philosophy is required.
