Assistant Professor - Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Department of Philosophy and Religion seeks a Philosopher to fill a position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin August, 2017. This is a full time, tenure track position. The successful candidate will have an active research agenda, demonstrating facility with the research specializations in applied ethics, and is required to have an established record of publication or strong potential for publication is expected. Candidates must also be competent to teach biomedical ethics.  Preference will be given to candidates with additional competency in either Critical Race Theory or Feminist Theory. Position requires teaching introductory courses and courses in one’s specialty.  ABD required, PhD expected in hand at the time of appointment. Minimum requirements: Ph.D. in Philosophy, or A.B.D. Philosophy, concentration in Ethics. Preferred qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with additional competency in either Critical Race Theory or Feminist Theory.
