Job description |
The School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs (PPPA) at Washington State University is seeking to hire a 2-year Instructor in Philosophy with expertise in Professional and Practical Ethics (PPE), and ability to teach philosophy of mind and philosophy of language. The position begins January 1, 2017. The teaching load is 4/4. Immediate need includes business ethics, computer/engineering ethics and professional skills, and ‘big data’ ethics, but other areas of applied ethics will also be considered. There is opportunity to contribute new offerings in PPE to our curriculum. The successful applicant is also expected to mentor and advise students, e.g. in writing honors theses, planning career choices and graduate study, etc. |

Required qualifications are a completed PhD in philosophy with emphasis on Professional and Practical Ethics, a publication record appropriate to career stage, evidence of on-going interest and evidence of teaching excellence.
