Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at Boston University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to begin July 1, 2017. We seek a candidate specializing either in the philosophy of mind/philosophy of neuroscience/cognitive science or in the philosophy of language. The candidate must have a solid background in the relevant sciences and disciplinary areas; an ability to contribute to research clusters in analytic philosophy and the philosophy of science is also highly desirable. Teaching experience and Ph.D. prior to appointment are expected. Position includes teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels; mentoring graduate students, performing committee work, and an ability to conduct interdisciplinary work, including contributions either to new philosophy/neuroscience joint major or to the joint philosophy and linguistics major highly desirable. Summer teaching options are available if a candidate is interested.
