The College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Philosophy, Theology, and Religious Studies invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position with an area of specialization in Medieval Philosophy or Early Modern Philosophy.  Areas of concentration are open. The successful candidate’s teaching responsibilities will include Introduction to Metaphysics and section(s) of the University-required critical thinking/logic course, The Art of Thinking, which provides an introduction to informal and formal logic with the goal of improving students’ critical thinking skills.  A typical academic year requires a 4/4 teaching load.

The ideal candidate is an excellent teacher committed to collegiality and willing to advise undergraduate students and contribute to the needs of the department, college, and university.  A doctorate in a related field is required by the end of August 2017.  The department strongly supports Sacred Heart University’s commitment to diversity and encourages applications from minorities, women, and persons of every sexual orientation and gender persuasion.
