Job description |
Assistant Professor (tenure track). AOS: moral philosophy, political and social philosophy, philosophy of economics, and/or business ethics. AOC: open. The position will be in Philosophy, but the successful candidate will be affiliated with the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets at the University’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. Applicants must indicate how their work and interests would complement the activities of the Snider Center. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels and will be assigned some administrative responsibilities. Most existing faculty in the department are engaged in interdisciplinary work, and numerous opportunities exist for interdisciplinary collaborations with members of departments and research centers across campus. The Department of Philosophy is committed to increasing the diversity of the campus community and welcomes applications from members of groups that have been, and continue to be, underrepresented in academia. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of faculty, staff, and students, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in these areas. To be considered for this position, applicants must apply online. Applicants will need to provide a letter of application and the usual dossier, containing curriculum vitae, names and email addresses for reference providers, writing sample, unofficial transcript and evidence of teaching ability. Inquiries about the position should be addressed to Prof. Dan Moller, Department of Philosophy. Applications will be considered until the position is filled, but for best consideration, all materials should arrive by November 11, 2016. |
