The duties include primarily teaching and research, equally. The successful candidate will contribute to the research environment, especially with respect to foundational and analytic issues concerning moral responsibility and free will (broadly conceived). He or she will also be expected to contribute to and actively participate in GRP’s research seminar and take part in FLoV’s other relevant research activities. The successful candidate may be expected to take on the role of year-round coordinator for the GRP, where this includes directing and supporting other GRP members and assisting the Director of the project.

Teaching duties include preparing and teaching first, second and third cycle courses. Subjects may cover the whole area of Practical Philosophy, including applied and normative ethics, metaethics, political philosophy, philosophy of law, history of philosophy, aesthetics, and philosophy of religion. The duties will include examination in teaching at second cycle level, for which a qualification required for appointment as a docent is required at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Gothenburg. Teaching staff are expected to contribute actively to the academic milieu of the relevant discipline in particular and the department in general, which means presence at the departmental locations, attending seminars etc.

Specific subject description
