Job description

The Center for Values and Social Policy at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Department of Philosophy invites applications for Visiting Fellows for the 2017-18 academic year.  The Center’s Visiting Fellows program is intended for faculty who work in the values area, who have done a significant amount of work in applied/practical normative philosophy broadly understood to include applied/practical issues in moral, social, political, and legal philosophy, who will be on paid leave from their home institution for one or both semesters during the 2017-18 academic year or who are retired, and who would like to spend between approximately two and eight weeks during that time in residence at the Center.  Visiting Fellows will spend most of their time at the Center conducting research but will also be expected to give a talk or two (depending on the length of their stay) and to do a few guest presentations in courses being offered by the Department.  The Center can offer Visiting Fellows office space, library privileges, a $1,500 stipend and assistance with travel costs, along with collegial engagement with a large and vibrant community of faculty and graduate students with interests in practical/applied issues in moral, social, political, and legal philosophy. The University of Colorado is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. The Center encourages applications from women, racial and ethnic minorities, individuals with disabilities, and veterans.
