Job description

The Philosophy Department at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia seeks to hire an Assistant Professor of Philosophy, tenure-track, beginning August 16, 2017.

A.O.S.  business ethics or ethical theory;  A.O.C. business ethics and ethical theory. 

Three undergraduate courses, typically two preps, per semester;  advising and committee duties.  Candidates should be prepared to teach upper-level courses in business ethics, as well as our core course PHL 154 Moral Foundations, and perhaps other philosophy courses in our general education program. Opportunities for teaching in honors and service-learning programs. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of effective teaching and the promise of an active scholarly agenda.  Strong evidence of Ph.D. completion by August 16, 2017 is required.  (This position is contingent upon budgetary approval.)

Essential:  a commitment to undergraduate teaching, and the ability to contribute to the mission of a Jesuit Catholic University in a deliberately diverse department.  Women and members of underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
