The Philosophy Department at The University of Houston intends to make one tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, effective September 1 2017. AOS: open, but the Department has particular needs in the History of Philosophy and in Metaphysics and Epistemology; AOC: open. With one of the most diverse student bodies in the nation, the University of Houston seeks to recruit and retain a diverse community of scholars. The Philosophy Department at the University of Houston has 9 tenured and tenure-track faculty whose interests span the discipline. The Department’s Master’s program has long been ranked among the top 10 terminal MA programs in philosophy in the US. We offer an undergraduate major and minor, and contribute substantially to the teaching of the University’s core curriculum. Responsibilities include teaching 2 courses per semester (with TA support for introductory courses) and normal service to the Department, College, and University. Salary Competitive.
