The Weinberg Institute for Cognitive Science at The University of Michigan invites applications from creative, highly qualified and motivated professors for a one-semester or one-year Visiting Scholar position. The beginning dates of the appointment would either be September 2017 or January 2018, depending on the applicant appointed. Area of specialization(s) is open. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful applicant will be an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor conducting influential research in any area(s) of the Cognitive Sciences. We value rigor, commitment, interdisciplinarity, a collaborative perspective, diversity and a desire to teach. Applications should include a cover letter, a research proposal and one-page teaching statement, including a brief description of a course you’d be willing to teach or co-teach with a University of Michigan faculty member, at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Research statements must specify how the applicant’s research will integrate with and benefit from ongoing Cognitive Science research being conducted at the University of Michigan. The research proposal could mention any UM faculty from the Departments of Linguistics, Psychology, Philosophy, Computer Science and Engineering and/or The Neuroscience PhD Program, or related disciplines.
