Associate Professorship/Professorship of Philosophy and Tutorial Fellowship in Philosophy

The Faculty of Philosophy, seeks to appoint an Associate Professor/Professor in Post-Kantian European Philosophy, with effect from 1 September 2017.  This post will be held in association with a Tutorial Fellowship at Corpus Christi College, Oxford.

The appointment will be a permanent post (after initial probation).  The total university and college stipend is on the scale £45,562 to £61,179 p.a., plus allowances (including housing allowance of £12,144). The appointment will be pensionable under the USS scheme.

The successful candidate must have an internationally outstanding research record, appropriate to their career stage, in Post-Kantian European Philosophy, and be able to provide a high standard of research-led teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They should have the capacity to teach at least one (and ideally two) of the following subjects for the College: General Philosophy, Moral Philosophy and/or Introduction to Logic (for first-year undergraduates); and be able to teach Post-Kantian Philosophy and at least one other paper (for advanced undergraduates).  The Faculty is seeking to make an appointment with a proven specialism in Post-Kantian European Philosophy; research and teaching interests in early 19th-century German Philosophy would be especially welcome.
