Job description |
The Department of Philosophy at Rochester Institute of Technology seeks to appoint a tenure-track Assistant Professor, to begin Mid-August, 2017. We seek candidates specializing in Philosophy of Mind/Cognitive Science, Moral Psychology. Desired areas of teaching competence include Philosophy of Law; Ethics; Logic; or Philosophy of Mathematics. Possession of Ph.D. in Philosophy by time of appointment is required. A commitment to undergraduate teaching and a strong foundation in the history of philosophy are essential for the successful candidate. A willingness and ability to engage in cross disciplinary work within the larger university is highly desirable. Candidates must have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences. Our typical teaching load is five undergraduate courses split between the fall and spring semester. Research-related opportunities are available including course releases. Additional opportunities for summer teaching are also available. Usual advising and service expected. Competitive salary.
