The Wilkes Honors College (HC) is a highly selective, semi-autonomous unit within FAU, with its own full-time faculty and a four-year, all-honors, liberal arts and sciences curriculum, which includes interdisciplinary coursework and a senior thesis. The Honors College is located in the coastal community of Jupiter, FL on FAU's MacArthur Campus. The college has a vibrant and diverse faculty who regularly engage in interdisciplinary teaching and research, and a motivated, bright, and creative student body with a strong graduate school placement record. The Jupiter campus is home to the Scripps and Max Planck Research Institutes and the Jupiter Life Science Initiative. While the research area for this position is open, applicants whose research and teaching interests contribute to one or more of the college's interdisciplinary concentrations are preferred. We seek a collaborative colleague who is dedicated to teaching and mentoring undergraduates. The typical course load is five undergraduate courses per year, and our teaching needs include: Ancient Greek Philosophy, Metaphysics, and Environmental Philosophy.
The successful candidate for this position must show a trajectory for productive scholarship, as a strong publication record will be necessary for tenure. Qualifications:
PhD in Philosophy by the time of appointment (August 2017) required.
