Salary £29,301-£38,183 pa

The Faculty of Philosophy is seeking to appoint a temporary Teaching Associate in Philosophy from 1st January 2017.

The position will last for twenty-one months, ending on 30th September 2018, covering for Dr Tom Dougherty who has an AHRC Leadership Fellowship research grant.

The vacancy presents an excellent opportunity particularly for an early career scholar to gain teaching experience and research support within a prestigious philosophy department. The post is based in central Cambridge.

Ability to teach at undergraduate and Masters level in ethics and political philosophy is essential. Ability to teach at these levels in epistemology or metaphysics would be desirable.

Applicants must already have a PhD in a relevant subject area and have significant teaching experience. We expect the successful applicant to be actively pursuing research in philosophy.

The person appointed will be required to give up to 40 lectures per academic year, to supervise MPhil students, and to examine at both undergraduate and MPhil level; and contribute to the administrative functions of the Faculty. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to participate in College teaching for additional remuneration.
