Job description

The University of New Hampshire Department of Philosophy invites applications for an initial three-year, potentially renewable lecturer position to begin August 2017. Area of Specialization: Ethics. Areas of competence: Business Ethics. This position offers excellent benefits and opportunities for promotion. The person appointed to this position will play a leading role in developing and teaching philosophy courses satisfying the ethics requirement of the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics, and will also teach other courses in our collegial and pluralistic department. The teaching load is six courses per year. The person appointed will team teach some courses with over 100 students, and we will provide teaching assistant support for such assignments.

This a teaching position compliant with the collective bargaining agreement between UNH and the UNH Lecturers United AAUP. We do not require lecturers to also maintain active research programs, and promotion opportunities for lecturers do not depend on research productivity.

Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. in philosophy completed by the time of appointment, expertise in applied business ethics, and demonstrated teaching excellence. We especially invite applications from members of historically under-represented groups, and we encourage all applicants to note in their cover letter any specific knowledge, skills, and experience related to building diverse educational environments.

Please submit the following via https://jobs.usnh.edu/postings/24430: 1) a cover letter; 2) curriculum vitae; 3) a teaching statement; 4) three letters of references, with at least one letter addressing your teaching experience; and 5) a teaching portfolio or any additional materials demonstrating evidence of effective teaching. Please submit materials by December 19 to assure full consideration. Review of applications will be ongoing until the position is filled. We will conduct first round interviews via video conference.
