Philosophy Assistant Professor Position – AOS: 19th/20th-Century Continental Philosophy AOC: Asian, Latin-American and/or Feminist Thought Founded in 1887, Benedictine University is a Roman Catholic university located in Lisle, Illinois just 25 miles west of Chicago, and has branch campuses in Springfield, Illinois and Mesa, Arizona. Position Description: Full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position teaching undergraduates within Benedictine University’s Philosophy Program. Includes defined expectations for teaching, scholarship and University service. Areas of Specialization: 19th/20th-century Continental Philosophy. Areas of Concentration: Asian, Latin-American and/or Feminist Thought. Qualified candidates must also be committed to teaching General Education courses (including required General Education distribution courses in Philosophy, Global-designated courses, Writing courses, and capstone Interdisciplinary Seminars that engage the Catholic Intellectual Tradition). Qualifications: Ph.D. in Philosophy required. Teaching experience at the college level required. Candidates must have legal authority to work in the USA for the duration of the appointment. Candidate must be prepared to contribute to the advancement of Benedictine University’s mission as a Catholic and Benedictine University.
