Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Philosophy Department invites applications for a tenure-track position in Philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seek a generalist in the analytic tradition who works in metaphysics or epistemology (broadly conceived). AOS/AOC: Metaphysics, Epistemology, Philosophy of Mind, or Philosophy of Science. Course preparations typically cycle through: Sentential Logic, Predicate Logic, Epistemology, British Empiricism, History of Analytic Philosophy, Philosophy of Science, Philosophy of Mind, upper-year undergraduate seminars in topics in analytic philosophy. Standard teaching load is 5-6 undergraduate courses per academic year. Teaching reduction is available for incoming junior faculty. Applicants must have an active research and publishing program, demonstrated excellence in teaching or clear evidence of the potential to develop the same, and be willing to participate collegially in the life of the department and engage in service activities within the university and the wider community.
