Philosophy job opening: Assistant Professor Without Review

The Department of Philosophy at UBC-Vancouver invites applications for a limited-term position at the rank of Assistant Professor Without Review to commence July 1st, 2017. The appointment is expected to be for two years.

Area of Specialization: Ethics and Political Philosophy

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. and have research expertise in Ethics and Political Philosophy, demonstrated accomplishments in scholarship (evidenced by high-quality publications and significant conference participation), and an excellent record of teaching at the undergraduate level. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active program of research and teaching, and to undertake service duties as assigned by the Head. The teaching load will be four 3-credit courses per year. Additional research experience and teaching ability in ancient philosophy would be an asset.
