Assistant Professor of Philosophy, first or second term.  Position will preferably begin July 1, 2018, or as soon as possible thereafter.  AOS: Open; AOC: Open.  The department has needs in Ancient Philosophy (non-ethics areas only), Early Modern Philosophy, Philosophy of Mind/Philosophy of Psychology, and Early Islamic Philosophy, but will consider candidates specializing in any area.  Minimum teaching load of four courses/year, graduate and undergraduate levels; usual dissertation, committee, and advising responsibilities. Successful candidates less than two years out from PhD may also be eligible for appointment as Provost Fellows with an initial two-year faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor.  Doctoral degree in Philosophy, or related field, required by start of the appointment.  We welcome applicants from groups historically underrepresented in academia, including women, black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian or Alaskan Native.
