Faculty position in Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Department of International Studies at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates seeks to hire a professor of philosophy (rank open) for a three-year renewable position to begin Fall 2018. As a university formed on the American model and with English as the language of instruction, only candidates who speak and publish in fluent English will be considered and preference will be given to candidates with experience of the American model of higher education. Area of specialization is open, but we are looking for someone with competence teaching at least two of the following areas: Epistomology, Greek philosophy, Islamic philosophy, Political Philosophy, or Philosophy of Science. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. in philosophy, a record of excellent teaching, peer-reviewed publications, and a wish to contribute actively to the interdisciplinary atmosphere in the Department of International Studies.
