The Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Limerick invites applications for a PhD Scholarship in Political Theory. Applications are sought from candidates interested in pursuing research in normative political theory/philosophy.


This scholarship will pay for tuition fees (at EU rates) for up to three years, and provide a maintenance grant of €4000 in the first year, which may be renewable subject to academic performance and budgetary constraints.


Applications should include the following:

  • Research proposal (4 pages maximum)
  • Copies of Academic Transcripts
  • CV or Resume (2 pages maximum)
  • One academic reference
