Job description

The Philosophy Department at Saint Joseph’s College in Standish, Maine invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in August, 2018. Ph.D. preferred/ABD considered. AOS: Open; AOC: Open. The teaching load is 3/3 (24 credit hours per year), which will include multiple sections of the College’s required philosophy course, “Human Nature and Ethics,” and several electives.

The specialization and concentration are open, but we are looking for candidates who can teach in the history of Western philosophy, and an ability to teach metaphysics is also desirable. Apart from demonstrating outstanding teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to pursue an active program of scholarship and offer regular service to the department and the College.
