Assistant/Associate/Full Professor Public Health/Policy for Neglected Tropical Diseases (EXPIRED)

Northeastern University seeks to appoint a faculty member in global public health policy or public health practice.  We have a special interest in the area of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and other infectious diseases.  The rank is open.  Please let us know if you are interested in this position or if you know candidates with strong records of accomplishment in global health policy related to this area.

We are building a multi-disciplinary research team in NTDs and other infectious diseases, which is the centerpiece of an exciting new interdisciplinary Global Health Initiative. The faculty member who fills this position will have an opportunity to work with an outstanding group of scientists and policy scholars in shaping the policy pillar of the Global Health Initiative. Some of the areas of expertise we are considering include:  

• R&D incentives and funding models for pharmaceutical and diagnostics innovations,
• Intellectual property, licensing, and access policies,
• Health systems, policy, or practice related to major NTDs,
• Procurement and supply chain,
• Ethics, human rights and global health justice,
• WHO/TDR, DNDi, Gates Foundation, GSK NTD Patent Pool and other global, regional and national initiatives working on NTDs.

Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and conducting an independent and collaborative, externally funded research program. The appointment will be in the department(s) which best match the candidate’s interests in the College of Health Sciences, the College of Social Sciences and Humanities and the School of Law.
