Job description

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in Philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy by the starting date of August 16, 2018. Although the primary area of specialization is open, candidates must demonstrate a research agenda in data and information ethics and/or ethics of technology.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the development of a graduate concentration in data/technology ethics. The successful candidate will be expected to 1) maintain an active research agenda, 2) teach four courses per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate level, 3) pursue interdisciplinary connections with other units on campus, 4) apply for and obtain extramural research funding, and 5) provide service to the department, the university, and the profession.
