FRGV0687 Lecturer I in Philosophy/College of Liberal Arts (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley seeks candidates who are excellent and inspiring teachers. While this is a teaching position, and we will consider any applicant who can demonstrate great teaching and experience with outreach, we are especially interested in candidates with a background in Borderlands Philosophy, Latin American Philosophy, and/or Religious Studies. In addition to the standard introductory philosophy courses, we would also like to offer Introduction to Latin American Philosophy, Race, Sexuality and Class, Religious Diversity in the Global Community, and Borderlands Religion and Spirituality. The ability to teach any of those courses is an advantage. Additionally, the department is interested in candidates who can teach in Spanish or Bilingually in addition to English in order to help us to cultivate and enhance the diverse, multicultural, and linguistic assets of our university and the Rio Grande Valley. Complete application includes teaching philosophy and at least one mock syllabus of one of the aforementioned courses.
