The Department of Philosophy at the University of Manitoba invites applications for one full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, specializing in Epistemology or Metaphysics or Philosophy of Mind with (i) the ability to teach graduate courses in AOS and (ii) demonstrated potential for research and teaching excellence in AOS.  The ability to teach in at least two of the following areas at the undergraduate level would be an asset: epistemology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, and logic. This appointment will be effective July 1, 2018.  The successful candidate who holds a Ph.D. will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate who is scheduled to complete the doctoral dissertation shortly after July 1, 2018 will be initially offered a term appointment at the rank of Lecturer until the Ph.D. is completed.

Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the chosen candidate.  Responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate teaching, and examination in the core components of the departmental program, graduate supervision, a productive research program, and service-related activities.
