These will be uploaded to your application file. College/Department Overview The College of Liberal Arts currently has 113 full-time and 152 part-time faculty in 8 academic departments. The College serves the University's Core Curriculum programs and enrolls more than 2,850 undergraduate students and more than 300 graduate students in 34 undergraduate and 17 graduate majors. For further information see our website at: http://www.uco.edu/la Position Overview Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students. Lecturer faculty performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the Lecturer faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. Department Specific Essential Job Functions Teaching, as well as departmental/school and university service is expected. Philosophy lecturers teach five of a variety of introductory core courses per semester. Qualifications/Experience Preferred Teaching experience in core undergraduate courses is highly desirable, as is an AOC in logic and experience in teaching logic. An M.A. awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Ability to perform institutional committee and service work. Physical Demands Repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing. Frequent standing, and/or sitting. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching. Reach with hands and arms. Visually identify, observe and assess. Ability to communicate with supervisor/students/colleagues. Regular physical attendance required.
