Senior Research Fellow - Global Priorities Programme (EXPIRED)

Applications are invited for a full-time Senior Research Fellow in Philosophy to conduct research for the Global Priorities Programme, under the supervision of Professor Hilary Greaves (Director of the Programme). The Fellow will conduct research in line with the research agenda of the Global Priorities Programme, which can be found at: http://globalprioritiesprogramme.org.

The post is fixed-term from the date of appointment for 4 years, and is anticipated to start October 2018 (with some flexibility). The Fellow will be located in central Oxford with the Global Priorities Programme, which is part of the Faculty of Philosophy.

Research will include producing publications to be submitted to journals, as book chapters and as internal reports. The Fellow will also participate in related activities, such as developing new research methodologies and materials, contributing to shaping the research agenda, and assisting in the supervision of visiting graduate students.

The postholder is required to have received the degree of PhD (or equivalent) in philosophy and experience of independent research. Also essential are excellent research skills and an outstanding publication record. They must have the ability to
independently plan and manage a research project. In addition, the fellow must possess specialist knowledge of and a genuine interest in global priorities research and effective altruism.

Shortlisted candidates will also be asked to submit a research proposal (of no more than 1,000 words) prior to interview. Shortlisted candidates will be notified on Thursday 11 January, and interviews will be held on Wednesday 17 and Friday 19
