Researcher - Global Priorities Programme (maternity cover) (EXPIRED)

Applications are invited for a full-time Research Fellow in Philosophy to work with the Global Priorities Programme, under the supervision of Professor Hilary Greaves (Director of the Programme). The Fellow will oversee all operational aspects of the Global Priorities Programme, more information about which can be found at http://globalprioritiesprogramme.org.

The post is fixed-term from the date of appointment for 6 months, and is anticipated to start March 2018. The Fellow will be located in central Oxford with the Global Priorities Programme, which is part of the Faculty of Philosophy.

The postholder will provide 6 months maternity cover as a member of the Global Priorities research group with responsibility for transforming the project into a long-term research institute by seeking research funding, recruiting talented researchers and the operational management of the team. The fellow will also engage in related activities such as representing the group at external seminars and meetings, liaising with donors and organising internal seminars and working groups.

The postholder is required to hold an undergraduate degree which is relevant to global priorities research. Also essential are excellent communication skills and an ability to contribute ideas for research centre growth and research income generation. In
addition, the fellow must possess sufficient specialist knowledge of and a genuine interest in global priorities research and effective altruism.
