Job description

Baze University is an independent, secular institution situated in Nigeria's capital, Abuja. It opened its doors in April 2011 to students in Law, Computing, and Business. It has a modern campus, built and equipped to a high standard. Baze aspires to British style and quality, and is determined to offer a first-rate university education. It recruits on merit, and encourages international applicants.


Professor Michael Hodd, formerly of SOAS, University of London and the University of Westminster is the Vice-Chancellor.


The University is seeking to appoint a senior academic in General Studies which offers Modules in English, Academic Skills, History of Ideas, Philosophy, etc..


Salary is open to negotiation, but is expected to be pitched close to the UK level.


Abuja is a fine modern capital, with tree-lined avenues, pavements for pedestrians, street-lighting, and many parks. A large international and diplomatic community means it is safe, with good accommodation, restaurants, cinemas, supermarkets and social life.
