Assistant Professor of Philosophy (EXPIRED)

The Department of Philosophy anticipates hiring an Assistant Professor beginning June 25, 2018. The initial appointment will be for three years. Reappointments of four years in length are possible. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to teach core ethics courses and elective courses including the just-war tradition, history of philosophy, comparative religion, and philosophy of religion; mentor officer candidates; administer USAFA’s Religion Studies minor; perform service for the department, institution, and discipline; and publish original research. Preference will be given to candidates who have a research and/or teaching focus, especially undergraduate, in applied and especially military ethics, comparative religion, and philosophy of religion, with relevant degrees and publications. An earned doctorate (completed no later than June 25, 2018), in philosophy or a closely-related discipline such as religious studies is required.  To Apply: Go to www.usajobs.gov.
