Assistant Teaching Professor, Biobehavioral Health The Department of Biobehavioral Health (BBH; http://bbh.hhd.psu.edu/) in the College of Health and Human Development at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a full-time, academic year (36-week), non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor position beginning Fall semester 2018 to support our undergraduate curriculum. The undergraduate program teaches about biopsychosocial determinants of health outcomes, mechanisms of public health disparities, critical evaluation of research, ethics, and health promotion. Teaching faculty are highly engaged with both students and curriculum development. Multiple opportunities exist for teaching professional development at the department, college, and university level. Primary responsibilities of the Assistant Teaching Professor position are to teach undergraduate students and provide service to Departmental and/or other University committees. In particular, we are interested in a faculty member who can teach courses related to health ethics. There may be opportunities to be involved with other aspects of our curriculum and department initiatives. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in: Biobehavioral Health, Bioethics, Philosophy (with Bioethics specialization), or a related field including (but not limited to) Public Health, Psychology, or Biological Sciences. Teaching experience and background related to ethics in public health, medicine, or research are required. The ability to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, and staff is required.
